If you have heard of Chatroulette and tried it, then you probably already know one of the big issues. Chatroulette is fun and interesting, but there are too many naked people. And not necessarily the ones you want to see either!
vChatter has built a better mousetrap. It’s basically Chatroulette with a filter. It started out as a simple Facebook Application and now has grown into a full stand alone site. It claims to be able to filter out naked body parts using a host of proprietary “skin filtering methods”. Also since you can only use it if you are logged in via Facebook, it cuts down on the anonymous aspect. Yes you are still anonymous but people tend to lie less if they know their actions might be reflected on their facebook page.
vChatter is really a social video chat site that allows you to click a button and automatically be connected to someone else anywhere in the world webcam to webcam. Users pick who they want to meet based on geography, gender, and age. It's kind of like SpinSnap but for discovering new and exciting people you would not normally meet.
vChatter also offers personal URLs for private video chatrooms. Users can embed their vChatter badge on a blog, email, or website and invite anyone to reach out in a live video chat.
With over 2 million users and 25 million calls established to date, they must be doing something right.
