It’s starting to get cold and with cold comes snow.  If you ski or snowboard you are going to want to check this out.  There are always new gadgets that come out with a lot of hype, but this one is very cool.  Introducing the world’s first GPS enabled Goggles with “heads up display”.

In other words, these are super techie ski/snow board goggles that will track in real time, how fast you are moving, latitude/longitude, altitude, vertical distance travelled, total distance travelled, chrono/stopwatch mode, a run-counter, temperature and time.

So you can take 10 runs down the mountain then hit the lodge to find your laptop. Hook your googles up to your computer via USB port, download all the data it just collected and overlay their entire alpine experience on satellite imagery!

The optical system, is embedded within a Zeal Optics’ frame design on a micro LCD display, which apparently appears to hang approximately six feet in front of the user when goggles are on. Transcend also features ‘glove-friendly’ buttons to navigate the full-color dashboard and feature screens.
